And Three Makes a Family

I can’t believe a little over a year ago, we were photographing Tracy and Marc’s wedding. Now they have this little bundle of joy. You won’t believe how amazing he is - I swear I was at their house for an hour and if it wasn’t for the fact that I was photographing him, I would have never known there was a baby in the house. He is by far the most content baby I have ever known. Here are some photos of the little guy.

Toni & Carlos are Married!

Toni & Carlos were married this past Saturday at the beautiful Alice Millar Chapel on Northwestern University’s campus. I was so excited about the photos that I wanted to share a few with you. A full blog post will follow later.

I take hundreds and hundreds (literally) of photos of my daughter. More often that not, I try to take photos of her doing her everyday activities. She’s growing up so fast and I want to remember all her little phases. With this photoshoot, I feel like that’s exactly what we got. We wanted to take photos outside but the weather just would not cooperate. Instead, we took the photos inside and just spent the hour playing together.

Toni & Carlos are Engaged!

We have been so busy taking photos that we’ve somehow managed to neglect this blog. Now we’re back on full blogging mode and what better way to re-start the blog than with photos from Toni and Carlos’ engagement session.

One of my absolute favorite things about photography is meeting or reconnecting with people. In this case, I got to reconnect with Toni. We both went to the same all girls high school but more than that, we were friends. We went to the same parties and even after high school, we had holiday dinners to catch-up on what everyone was doing in college but somehow over the years, we managed to lose touch. So needless to say I was completely excited when she emailed me to say that she was engaged and wanted us to photograph her wedding!!!

If there was one thing that I remembered about Toni from our high school days, it was her smile and laughter (okay - so technically that’s two things but you get the idea). Both were extremely contagious and it would only be fitting that Carlos brought both out in her. Below are a few of our favorite photos from the day.

Liz and Nick are Married!

Here are some of our favorite photos of the day.

Liz and Nick decided to write their own vows. Well . . . technically, Liz wrote both of their vows. She’s one amazing woman because if I was her, I would have definitely snuck something in their about making sure I got breakfast in bed a couple days each week.

I absolutely loved Liz’s dress! The detail was beautiful and it looked sooooo gorgeous on Liz!!!

Liz’s dad was so proud that day - he told me at least five times that he was the father of the bride. I imagine Ben would be the exact same way when Annabelle (our daughter) gets married.

Adriana and Jesse are Engaged!

The after we published this blog, we got an email from Adriana asking for more information. You can imagine how excited we were! After our initial meeting, I went home and told Ben all about the two of them because I had a great time just getting to know them. We finally set up an engagement shoot downtown which started at Millenium Park, the Art Institute, and then a walk down Michigan Avenue. Here are a few of our favorite photos.

Liz and Nick are Engaged!

Liz and Nick recommended taking photos at Crabtree Nature Park. We were nervous that the weather wouldn’t cooperate but we decided to take a chance and go there anyways. Unfortunately, the grounds were muddy so we didn’t get to take too many photos there; however, we did find a bike trail across the street that proved to be an excellent alternative.

The photos below are just a few of our favorites from the engagement session. You can tell just how natural they are in front of the camera.

Liz and Nick - We can’t wait for your wedding! It’s hard to believe that it’s just right around the corner.
